Welcome to West-Oak High School

West-Oak High School, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is one of South Carolina's premier high schools. West-Oak High School serves approximately 750 students from the northwestern corner of Oconee County. The West-Oak mascot is the Warrior, and our school colors are navy, red, and silver. West-Oak High School distinguishes herself as a leader in helping students create and achieve post high school goals in both career and college preparation. West-Oak has an outstanding faculty with over half of our teachers having earned advanced degrees in their field.

West-Oak High School has a rich heritage of pride and diverse traditions. Created by the consolidation of Oakway and Westminster High Schools, our school serves students from approximately one-half of the land area in Oconee County. Both Oakway and Westminster schools had been previously consolidated in the sixties with Fair Play, Long Creek, and Cleveland community schools. Construction for the new building was begun in 1982, students entered in the fall of 1983, and the first class graduated in the spring of 1984.
